Generate a Custom WhatsApp Link in Seconds
When customers contact a company, they often dread waiting for an email response or being put on hold. This is why clients are always looking for the most convenient and quick manner to reach them. In today’s era of quick gratification, clients’ best friend for getting in touch with a business is WhatsApp. With this trend gaining traction at breakneck pace, over 5 million businesses have already adopted WhatsApp to communicate with their clients.
In this article, we’ll go over what a click-to-chat link is, why it’s useful, how to make one, and where to utilize it for the greatest results. Let’s get started.
What is the click-to-chat feature in WhatsApp?
Businesses can use the click-to-chat link to talk with customers and website visitors on WhatsApp. When a user opens the link, a chat window appears on their phone or on the WhatsApp site, allowing them to immediately communicate with the company. The major advantage is that neither the business nor the customer needs to save any phone numbers.
As long as the person clicking the link has a WhatsApp account, click to chat works on both your phone and the WhatsApp site. An image with a WhatsApp link inserted in it is seen below. This will launch a WhatsApp chat window with our chatbot.
What is the benefit of using the WhatsApp click-to-chat link?
- Effortless – Customers do not need to add your phone number to their contact list before contacting you.
- Chat with a single click – Your business and customers may start a WhatsApp discussion with only one click.
- Multiform factor — It can be used as a hyperlink, QR code, or as part of an image or GIF.
- Lead magnet – The links can be widely displayed on your website with an offer banner or hyperlinked in the chat widget to encourage conversion, generate leads, and sell. Small businesses with merely a website can sell straight on WhatsApp using the click-to-chat link and chat widget, without needing to invest substantially in establishing a full-fledged e-commerce website.
What is the best way to make a WhatsApp link that allows you to chat instantly?
A WhatsApp link Malaysia can be made in one of two methods. The first method is to enter the phone number and message in a specified format manually, while the second method is to produce it within the Business app. Let’s look at each one separately.
Create a link without any tool
Create a simple link
To create a simple link without a specific message, start the URL with
“https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=” and then enter your phone number in international format.
Consider the following scenario:
- Phone Number: 01134567892
- Country Code: +60
- WhatsApp Link will be: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=601123456789
Note that the phone number does not contain any “+” or other special characters. Make sure to leave out any zeros, brackets, special characters, or dashes when entering the phone number.
Make a link with a pre-filled message.
The default message that the user will send to start the chat is a pre-filled or personalized message. If a business adds “Hello!” as a custom WhatsApp message, for example, this will be the first message sent by the user to start the conversation. Even if you don’t include a custom message in your link, the chat will start as soon as the user types anything in the chat box.
Space: Use percent 20 to add space to the text you want to generate. If you want to write ‘Hi, how are you?’, for example, it will be Hi percent 20how% 20are20you?
And this will be your WhatsApp link: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=44768483016&text=Hi%20how% 20are20you?
Multiple sentences: If you want to write multiple sentences, then to include a full stop you can add %0A. Suppose you want to write it like this – ‘Hello Saurav. How are you’, then you can write it as Hello%20Saurav%0Ahow%20are%20you%0A
And your WhatsApp code will be
https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=44768483016&text=Hello%20Saurav%0Ahow%20are%20you%0A
Within the WhatsApp business app, create a link.
If you already have the WhatsApp business app installed, you may establish the link right there in the app. This link will have a unique ID associated with your WhatsApp business account and will only launch a chat with the phone number associated with your WhatsApp business account. However, you can always use the procedures above to make linkages for additional WhatsApp numbers.
Go to Settings> Business Tools >Short Link to create a link from the Business app.
The link produced in the Business app will be in this format: https://wa.me/message/NSGZX546XIj1. Your unique code will be the text after “message/.”
Where should WhatsApp links be used for greater results?
Websites
One of the best ways to use WhatsApp links is to put them on a website. Businesses should incorporate it in a banner that says “Contact us on WhatsApp” or “Shop with us on WhatsApp” instead of just utilizing it as a link. The basic reason is that a well-designed graphic will attract more attention than a simple link. You may also use the WhatsApp links with a GIF if you want to be more creative.
Businesses can also use it as a QR code that visitors to their website can scan and instantly interact with. If you’re using the Business app, the QR code can be found within the app. If you’re manually constructing the WhatsApp link, you can use a QR code generator to generate the code.
Social media pages
Almost every social media platform, including Instagram, now allows you to add your website address to your profile pages. This is an excellent area to include the WhatsApp click-to-chat links. However, you don’t have to do that with Facebook pages because there is already an option to add a WhatsApp button to your page without utilizing a link. Follow the steps outlined in the figure below to accomplish this.
Post on social media
Including a click-to-chat link in your social media postings is a terrific way to reach out to your consumers and provide them with a simple way to talk and purchase from you.
Although Pantaloons asks users to say ‘HI’ on WhatsApp in the below social media post, it would be much easier for customers if they simply added the click-to-chat link instead. Customers would not have had to go through the trouble of saving this number to their phone.
Chat Widget
Using the chat widget on your website is another wonderful approach to use WhatsApp links on your website. Chat widgets may rapidly grab a user’s attention and urge them to start a dialogue with your company.
You may integrate WhatsApp links in the chat popup and start conversations on WhatsApp straight away with the chat widget. Not only that, but you can use the chat widget to add different messages to different sites and set up follow-up messages based on user activity.
When businesses are sympathetic to their customers’ difficulties, they provide an excellent customer experience. And the best way to do that is to quickly provide them with the proper solution!
