First, we must determine what exactly causes frizzy hair. Frizz is caused by the hair’s cuticle opening to allow moisture in. If you look at hair strands under a microscope, you will notice that it is covered by small “scales”. 1. Stay Away From Sulfates and Alcohol Products

Many hair care products, notably shampoos, contain sulfates (most commonly Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, abbreviated as SLES or SLS, respectively). If you’re still not convinced of the method, or if it’s not working for your hair, make sure the shampoo you’re using doesn’t contain SLS/SLES.

Sulfates remove your hair’s natural oils and are much harsher on frontal wig hair due to its curly nature. Because the hair does not extend straight down from the scalp, the naturally occurring oils that remain after shampooing cannot reach the entire length of the hair, resulting in dehydrated, frizzy hair.

In contrast, alcohol is more common in styling products such as mousses and gels. Even if your product is otherwise CG-friendly, if it contains alcohol, it may dry out your hair. Alcohol evaporates quickly, leaving the hair cuticle open while stripping away the natural oils in your hair, leaving your hair with a double dose of dryness.

2. Dry Your Frontal Wigs Gently

The first rule of thumb is to stay away from cloth towels. They cause dryness by removing too much moisture quickly, leaving your curls dry and frizzy. Furthermore, the rough texture of the terrycloth raises your hair’s cuticle, which is a significant cause of frizz.
