Is PO Exam Tough?

Because the IBPS PO exam notification is expected to be released soon, many students are eager to apply for the exam and have likely already begun studying for it. The most common question among students is whether the IBPS PO exam is easy or difficult, and whether or not they should take it.

The rumour is that the exam’s difficulty level is extremely high and that the average student will struggle to pass it. As a result, we’ve gone over some fundamental answers that should clear things up for you.

Passing the Cut-off: It’s Not That Hard

The preliminary level of the PO exam is only for qualifying purposes, and all you have to do is pass the overall and sectional cut-offs. It’s possible that IBPS will follow SBI’s lead and skip sectional cut-offs entirely.

Even though the exam cut-off increases year after year, it does not rise to the point where it becomes difficult for students to score higher than it. Students can use the previous year’s cut off as a guideline and should aim for at least 5–6 points higher than that. As a result, there is no need to be concerned about passing the preliminary level.

Quick And Simple Preparation

If one wants to pass the PO exam, it takes at least two to three years of preparation. But it’s just a legend. To pass the exam, 3 to 4 months of dedicated preparation is sufficient. If one does not study seriously, it may take years to prepare for the same. However, if one adheres to a strict study schedule, one can be well-prepared for the exam.

Easy To Clear In The 1st Attempt

Students have the mindset that if they want to pass the exam, they should take it at least two or three times. It’s all a work of fiction. Many of the candidates have passed the exam on their first attempt. It is only through their consistent practice and consistent efforts that they are able to pass the exam on the first try.

The Quant Section

Students believe that if they do not have a strong mathematical background, they will not be able to perform well in the quantitative aptitude section. This isn’t correct. It takes almost a month to master the fundamentals of the quantitative aptitude section’s chapters. Then all you have to do is practise as many questions as possible.

It will not take long if you devote yourself to it on a regular basis. As a result, you can excel in this section in a short amount of time.

Who Can Qualify: Academic Scores Don’t Have Much Weightage

It’s a common misconception that only students with excellent academic records can pass the exam. This is also a blunder. Many students have received only average grades throughout their academic careers, but have passed the exam on their first attempt. They are devoted to their profession and go to great lengths to achieve their objectives.

General Awareness: The Toughest Section

Even though this is a large section (as it includes questions about financial and banking awareness, current events, and static awareness), it is not difficult to prepare for. It only takes an hour of regular reading and a week of revision to remember everything.

There are many magazines to prepare for the current awareness section, such as Make My Exam, compiled by IBT India, which compiles the major events of the previous six months. You can read the same to refresh your memory on the important events. You can also use the offline tests found at the back of the magazine to help you review.

Why Do Aspirants Fail To Pass The Bank PO Exam?

Thousands of people apply for bank exams, but only a small percentage of them pass. Many candidates even fail on multiple occasions. Bank examinations, particularly those conducted by IBPS and SBI for various positions, are not easy to pass. The number of candidates who passed the IBPS exam is significantly lower than the number of candidates who failed. Every year, the number of applicants grows, and as a result, the failure rate rises.

Despite their diligent preparation and hard work, many candidates are unable to pass the exam. During the interview, many higher authorities of concerned banks judge the candidates and discover that they lack communication skills. As a result, despite passing the written exam on merit, they are unable to proceed to the interview stage.

Changes In Exam Pattern And Syllabus Go Unnoticed

Every year, the pattern and syllabus are altered. Some less important issues have gained no traction over time. Recently, the two tiers of prelims and mains were introduced. Some candidates do not keep up with the changes, and as a result, they do not have answers to all of the questions on the exam.

Knowing Nothing About The Previous Year’s Cut-Offs And Exam Papers

One of the main reasons why candidates fail is their reliance on coaching institutes and their lack of knowledge of the previous year’s exam papers and sectional cut-offs. The overall cut-offs provide an indication of your desired score.

Tough Competition

Candidates who appear for the bank examination treat it lightly, which is one of the main reasons why they do not pass. There are lakhs of applicants vying for a position with thousands of openings. The exam has a high level of competition. As a result, the selection rate is extremely low, and it is primarily determined by performance and sectional cut-offs.

Not Familiar With The Online Exam Procedure

Some candidates are unfamiliar with the online examination format. We are frequently confronted with technical issues. Some candidates are unsure how to move from one section to the next. These candidates do not make it past the sectional cut-off.

Negative Marking

Every time you make a mistake, you will receive a negative grade. As a result, candidates tend to forget about the marking system and respond to questions by guessing. As a result, the marks that would have cleared their sectional cut-off are diminished. As a result, they fail to pass the exam. Candidates frequently lose 0.25 points for each incorrect answer.

Final Thoughts

There is no need to be concerned about the exam. It’s just a matter of separating yourself from your worries and concentrating on exam preparation. The only option is to knuckle down and put in some serious effort. It will undoubtedly lead you down the path that will take you to your final destination.
